February Odds & Ends

Friends and neighbors,

Here's hoping everyone enjoyed their Valentine's Day and President's Day weekend. Isn't it hard to believe that we're nearly two full months into 2013?

I attended the monthly Neighborhood Associations President's Council at City Hall this morning, and I wanted to share a couple of discussion points relevant to our neighborhood.
  • First, a Neighborhood Vitality Program update: Bridge construction at North College Park is complete and construction is currently underway in the Duck Creek and Mark Twain neighborhoods. Best of all, construction is scheduled to begin on bridges in Cottonwood Heights next month!
  • Second, home demolition is complete at Durham Park and prep work for the park site is beginning. May 2013 remains the estimated completion date for the new neighborhood park.
Finally, construction on the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema at Richardson Heights Shopping Center is heating up. We stopped by this weekend to check out their progress and were lucky enough to watch the crane put up another one of the outer walls. It was pretty impressive, as you can see below.

Sunday, February 17, 2013: Putting up a section of the outer wall at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema worksite.
There are a number of things happening in and around our neighborhood to be excited about. Please bookmark this blog to stay up to date on the latest happenings in our neighborhood. You can also stay in touch with us and your neighbors on Facebook and NextDoor

As always, if you have any questions, comments or suggestions, feel free to email me at jason.lemons@cottonwoodhna.org.

Best regards,
Jason Lemons
CHNA President
